TD active Holidays offer much more than a holiday. It is an opportunity for cultural immersion, independent exploration as well as the must see highlights. You have an expert local guide accompanying you to ensure you get the most out of your experience.
What will the accommodation be like on an active holiday?
We aim to include accommodation which best reflects the character of the local area in which you will be travelling. So this could be a cosy homestay, a quirky downtown hotel or a night camping under the stars. Some itineraries might include a combination of all of these!
Can solo travellers join active holidays?
Yes! Our active holidays are ideal for independent, solo travellers. You can opt for our Solo Twin Share rooms, which pair you with a roommate of the same gender or you can have your own private room.
Do I need to have a high level of fitness to join an active holiday?
The nature of TD active Holidays is soft adventure travel so all of our itineraries all require some level of active participation. Whether it is trekking, cycling, white water rafting, kayaking or an interactive cooking experience, it is in the interests of all members of the group that everyone should be capable of fully participating. For all our tours we have an activity level guide to help you decide which holiday will suit you best.
What is the size of your active holiday groups?
The group will be between 10 and 20 people. Our small groups are big enough to give you the security of travelling with like-minded people, but also intimate enough to ensure you get under the skin of the destination you are exploring.
What if there is an emergency?
We have local representatives in all of our destinations who are available 24/7 as well as an emergency contact number for our offices in Ireland should you ever need it.
